Ifon Orolu is a dynamic center of Yoruba culture. As direct descendants of Obatala, the Olufon regularly observes traditional festivals and cultural practises dating back to the ancient times. The most important of these is the annual Obatala festival which takes place both in Ifon Orolu and Ile-Ife, in honour of Obatala, the deity of creation. The Olufon owns the festival in his rightful place as a descendant of Aremo Obatala (Obatala’s first son). Other festivals and ceremonies observed by Ifon Orolu people include the Egungun (masquerade), Ogun (the God of Iron and farming), and Odun Ade (Crown) festivals. The occasions bring together Ifon Irolu people from across the globe together in joyous celebrations of their hereditary and culture.
ODUN ADE OROLU FESTIVAL
The festival brings together all sons and daughters of Ifon-Orolu, at home and in diaspora, particularly the descendants of Obatala, to Ifon-Orolu their ancestral home for the purpose of celebrating, educating and supplication to their progenitor
